Für einen Anfänger stellen diese Übungen und Lieder sicherlich eine kleine Herausforderung dar, aber ich hatte 2,5 Jahre Tenorsax-Unterricht auf dem "Buckel", als mir mein Lehrer dieses Buch empfahl. Und ich muss sagen: ich habe es komplett durchgeübt und bin begeistert. Auch den Jazz habe ich dadurch jetzt kennengelernt und geübt. Super Songs, tolle Übungen, sehr zu empfehlen, die Songs sind auf der beiligenden CD sehr gut eingespielt. Ich hatte mir im Anschluss direkt den 2. Band gekauft, den ich jetzt widerum nach einem Jahr mit intensiver Übung durch habe und der eine Steigerung zum 1. Band war, aber das erste Buch dadurch als Grundlage unbedingt zu empfehlen ist. Immer wieder toll, vor allen Dingen, wenn man bedenkt, dass es nicht unbedingt bekannte Lieder sind, die man einstudiert. Nachher war ich immer glücklich, wenn ich wieder ein Stück mehr richtig toll spielen und intonieren konnte und der Fortschritt war hörbar. (sagte auch mein Mann :-)

ein Meister hat ein Werk für Anfänger verfasst. Und das ist gar nicht so selbstverständlich. Mit viel Einfühlungsvermögen hat er Stücke geschrieben, die einen leicht Fortgeschrittenen zwar sehr fordern, aber nicht frustriert zurücklassen. Man klingt schon sehr jazzig, wenn man diese Songs spielt.

Diese Etüden sind sehr geschmackvoll und nicht zu schwierig. Sie sind ein fester Bestandteil meines Saxophonunterrichts.Sie beinhalten hauptsächlich Blueskompositionen, enthalten aber auch eine sehr schöne Ballade, einen Bossa, drei Funkstücke, von denen 2 swingen und der dritte im achtelfeel geschrieben ist sowie 2 Kompositionen im Stil zwischen Swing und Bebop.

Für einen Fast-Anfänger wie mich durchaus eine Herausforderung, aber man braucht ja immer ein Ziel :-) Super Songs, tolle Übungen, sehr zu empfehlen.
